Alex drives the effort to cut through the bullshit that comes up left and right while one's trying to just do some good work.
After starting soldering at about four years old and winning first places or better at Jugend forscht five years in a row, he's by now having more than fifteen years of professional experience.
No matter if doing IT and DevOps at multiple companies, being interim head of engineering two times for a scientific instrument company, or developing a 25 GBit/s camera platform – he can build about anything, as long as it involves electronics, mechatronics, software or networking.
By now, his mission is to not just build things right by himself, but to enable others to do the same.

Augustin is the theory guy: Armed with an engineering degree from Télécom Physique Strasbourg and a master's degree in Embedded Systems and Chip Design, he has a very solid grasp of physics and foundational engineering techniques.
He put his masters to use designing the next generation of motion control ASICs at Trinamic Motion Control for over 4 years.
He also has a rare skill set in control system theory, including discrete time, quantized system modeling with Matlab and Control System Toolbox.

Eilbek Research is the fruit of many years of working as engineers, building products, talking to colleagues and observing the state of the world.
Through this work and through other influences, we grew disappointed at the state of the industry in Europe (and beyond), where minimal-effort stagnation is frequent and "innovation" often means superficially chasing trends. In face of this, we want to effect change.
Founding our own company just made sense: It serves to bundle our efforts to focus on rigor overhype and allows us to employ our strong engineering abilities in ways not possible as individual actors.
There's just something uniquely satisfying about using a perfectly shaped tool or interacting with a well-designed interface. This is the kind of product we love – and strive to build.
We are based in the beautiful city of Hamburg, Germany – well-known as "The gateway to the world". We're open to serve customers in Europe and beyond, even if we work best around the CET/CEST timezones.
